Outlook Express Stationery Help and Fact Page

Most of my stationery is designed for 1024 x 768 screen resolution and I have tried to be considerate of the people using 800 x 600 by making my stationery to be viewed with both resolutions. I have used mostly the same font for all my stationery so everyone can view my stats the way they were intended. Some things such as scrolling might not work smooth on your computer if they are processor intensive and you have a old computer.

Using my stationery

I offer my stationery for free and in doing so I have promised the artists who have so graciously offered the use of their images to have a link back to their site so please do not remove those links or any copyright symbols.

Using my Scripts

I stated on my index or home page that please feel free to use my scripts and in doing so you may remove the artists link if you do not use their image. You may also remove my link but please leave my credits intact inside the script.

Red X's Showing in my Stationery

If I have used an image more then once in my Stationery and you have done one of the recent Windows Upgrades, it will interfere with the use of duplicate images in stationery. There is a fix for this and that is to reinstall the old dll file back into your Window systems or systems 32 folder depending on which version of windows you are using. I would not recommend you doing this unless you are very familiar with a computer.

How to use my Stationery

My stationery is for Outlook Express and has all been made to be saved in the same folder that Microsoft has already set up. Save my stationery by putting my zip files into C:/Program Files/Common Files/Microsoft Shared/Stationery and then unzip them. I use the WinZip program to Zip my files and anyone can get a free demo of this program to use to unzip them. Once those files are unzipped go out of your C path and go back into your Outlook Express.

Once you are in OE go into Tools - Options - Send and make sure you have your mail sending format ticked at plain text. By doing this you will now be able to preview your stationery and make sure it is working to the way it is intended to.

Sending and viewing Stationery

Go into OE - message - new message using - select stationery. This will bring down a drop box that will say at the top left - select stationery. Making sure you have preview stationery ticked scroll over until you see HTML symbols and single click into it to preview the stationery. Once you have selected which one you would like to use double click into that HTML symbol and you will bring up the stationery in EDIT mode. Double click into your text box and type your message, put in email address of person you wish to send stationery in the TO area, write something in the subject line and then click into the preview area to view the working stationery. If you are happy with what you have done go back into edit and click on send to email the stationery. If you wish to change something go ahead and do now before sending.

WARNING

If you are inexperienced, many stationeries will not look the same in EDIT as they do in preview. If you are in doubt, send the stationery to yourself first before using.

I will try and add some more help tips to this page over time and if any of you have questions that can be reasonably answered please write me and I will try to include them on this page.
